Candle in the Breeze

Sara Blyth, To Chukudi
January 23, 1999

Asphyxiation--
"The oxygen done quench."
Tears of grief.
Shouts in anguish.

Another life snuffed out
Like a candle in a breeze.
But that breeze is getting stronger;
Every day
It builds up power.
You were only one of many.
Shine, candles!
Shine for my baby,
And may the candle,
Dark in the breeze,
Rest peacefully always.
